Born and raised in Tampa, Florida, Sarah Wilson attends
the University of South Florida as a senior Production major. She has
been producing her own films, music videos, promotional videos, and
documentaries since the age of 16.
Her works have aired thousands of times on cable and public
access channels and her short films featured in numerous local, state, and national film festivals. In both 2007 and 2008
Sarah’s entries in the national Bridgestone Safety Scholars video
contest claimed first place honors.
Most recently, Sarah and her team members won "Best Picture" at the Campus Movie Fest International Grand Finale after winning “Best Picture” honors at the Southern Regional Grand Finale for the second year in a row, beating thousands of student teams from across the nation for the title. In the summer of 2009, she attended the Cannes Film Festival as a student intern representing her film in the Short Film Corner. Sarah followed her Cannes trip with a two month development internship at Open City Films in New York City.
In
fall of 2008, Sarah began co-teaching the first ever Narrative
Filmmaking Honors College course at USF. Sarah and her co-teachers
crafted the course with the goal of helping students produce original
films from start to finish. She also taught a weekly Advanced Public
Relations workshop for the School of Mass Communications. She
expects to graduate in spring of 2010.
